Mirrored after Walter’s own interest in natural healing, the Fund seeks research with a focus on use of complementary medicine combined with conventional therapies. The Fund looks at the impact nutrition, mind/body, herbal supplements, acupuncture, spirituality and conventional innovations together can have on treating cancer.
100% of donations to the Walter Payton Cancer Fund help fund scientific research aimed at improving treatment options for cancer patients. Only the most promising and innovative studies receive consideration. All research grant requests are reviewed by a Board of Scientific Counselors, a stellar group of cancer research experts who help maintain high standards of scientific innovation while remaining true to the purpose of the Walter Payton Cancer Fund.
