Help the 5th Annual Walter Payton 16,726 Yard Run reach its fundraising goal of $100,000!
- Register for the Run.
- Buy a Meaningful Miles sign.
- Get others to support your participation in the Run.
With our new personalized web pages, raising money is easier than ever.
The first step to set a goal.
- Do you want to raise $100? Ask four friends for $5. Ask four family members for $10. Ask four people at work for $5. Ask a Packer fan for the remaining $20.
- Do you want to sell Walter’s career rushing record of 9.5 miles? Ask one person to "buy" each mile from you. Do the miles cost $10 each? Are miles only available on a limited basis, therefore sold only to the highest offers? There are lots of ways to approach this.
- Do you want your relay team to compete? Which team member can rally the most support from family and friends? Who gets bragging rights for the fastest leg of the relay? The most donations? The highest donation? Who is the REAL Walter Payton fan? You could have a lot of fun getting a little competition going among friends.
The second step is to tell others about your goal.
- Share your motivation. Let family and friends know how they can help. Express yourself - be creative! With our new personalized web pages, you can write your own content, upload pictures... there are endless possibilities!
- Spread the word - send out an email and ask recipients to pass your email to other Walter Payton fans, Bears fans, or to someone who has been touched by cancer. Make sure you include a link to your personal Run fundraising web page.
The third step is to call friends and family to action!
- Participate - ask them to join you at the Run, as a runner, a walker, or a spectator. Raise a challenge to the individual or team that raises the most money.
- Donate - if someone cannot be with you on Run Day, your personal Run fundraising web page offers secure credit card transactions so that they can still support your efforts or those of your team.
