Admittedly, Walter Payton is the one athlete that everyone dubbed “Sweetness”. He is a good-hearted person who did a lot of great things. At first the nickname was thought to be in relation to his sweet-sounding voice and it was stated that he was so sweet he could give a person cavities. Times have changed and though he no longer plays, he is still considered a sweet man who has it all together.

The thing is, he isn’t the only one. No one should forget that just because they do not have the name, there are many people out there who play professional sports and remain good people. They may even go above and beyond what Sweetness has done during his life.
